WHAT IS A QUANTUM COMPUTER?
A quantum computer is a new computer that is different in principle from the one we use today. It uses small particle called quantum, which combine the properties of both matter and waves. In this project, we will use electrons to fabricate a semiconductor quantum computer.
OPERATES AT RELATIVELY HIGH TEMPERATURES, SUCH AS 1K
Semiconductor quantum computers operate in the relatively high-pitched 1K (Kelvin) temperature range. This makes it possible to reduce the size of the refrigeration equipment needed to operate the quantum computer, making it easy to downsize for future mass production.
MASS PRODUCTION IS POSSIBLE USING EXISTING SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING FACILITIES.
Semiconductor quantum computers use the semiconductor manufacturing facilities of existing computers to produce quantum computers that use electrons. This allows us to use the most advanced processes for mass production and miniaturization technologies.
CAN BE MINIATURIZED AND INTEGRATED
It is possible to miniaturize qubits using state-of-the-art processes. This method is ideal for the future production of many qubits in the millions.
WHAT TO DO WITH OPEN SILICON QUANTUM
Toward miniaturization and mass production of quantum computers
The most important aspect of developing quantum computer hardware is the supply chain. The manufacturing of a quantum computer is a combination of many technologies. Open Silicon Quantum is working with the supply chain to shape a highly feasible semiconductor quantum computer.
