Hakuhodo DY Holding, in collaboration with blueqat, has successfully constructed and demonstrated a quantum algorithm for the optimal transport problem, which is crucial for data fusion, as part of its initiatives aimed at the future quantum computer era.
The target this time was the method to solve the optimal transport problem. We developed a quantum algorithm applicable to this optimal transport problem, and confirmed that optimal solutions can be obtained on both the real quantum computer by IonQ and the quantum computing simulator (cuQuantum) developed by NVIDIA.
